Story

A Journey, Not Just a Destination

While the lone fisherman often symbolizes patience, the act of rowing adds another layer: purpose and journey. In Eastern art, it can represent a deliberate path through life, navigating the currents with steady effort. It's less about waiting and more about moving forward.

Placing this fishing figurine in your landscape acknowledges this theme. It suggests a story of quiet progress and harmony with the elements, a fitting complement to the slow growth of a bonsai or the stable balance of an aquarium.

Reflecting Your Effort

Your hobby is a journey of its own—a process of careful trimming, patient waiting, and thoughtful arrangement. This figure mirrors that process: the steady, quiet effort that creates something beautiful over time. It’s a detail that acknowledges the work you put into your landscape, whether it's a bonsai, an aquascape, or a zen garden.

By choosing this handcrafted piece, you are also supporting a community of artisans in Vietnam, helping to keep their traditional skills alive in a world of mass production.

About the Artisan

This piece comes from Huy Pottery, a family workshop in Bat Trang, a village with a renowned pottery tradition spanning centuries. With over 20 years of experience, they shape each of these miniature fisherman figurines from local Vietnamese clay by hand.

The figures are fired in modern gas kilns, a process that is better for the environment and ensures a strong final product. The small differences between each piece are the signature of this hands-on process.

Care

Crafted from durable Hoang Tho clay, your Viet Potter figurine can withstand water and outdoor conditions.

Here's how to clean and care for your ceramic figurine:

  1. Rinse: Gently rinse the figurine with clean water.
  2. Soft Brush: Use a soft brush (an old toothbrush works great!) to gently scrub away any moss or dirt.
  3. Air Dry: Allow the figurine to air dry completely.

Please note: Avoid using any chemicals or abrasive cleaning tools, as these may damage the figurine's surface.
